Why England Lose? A Talk! World Cup special event.
Dear Parents and Friends,
We are pleased to invite you to join us for a Talk! from Stefan Szymanski’s on Tuesday 25 May at 8pm in the 450 Hall, as England prepare for the World Cup in South Africa. Please contact Katherine Shaw to reserve your place.
Professor Szymanski is a graduate of the University of Oxford, Hertford College, where he gained a first degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He began his teaching career at London Business School before moving to Imperial College in 1993. Professor Szymanski is also an economics professor, with many published articles on the business of sport, particularly football and the Olympics.
He has recently published a fascinating book with Simon Kuper (a previous Talk! guest) entitled ‘Why England lose’. Both authors recently wrote for the Financial Times about their findings.
